The legendary Mayan cities of Uxmal and Kabah are located on the Yucatan Peninsula south of the city of Merida. These historic cities were built as important urban centers of commerce during the Mayan period. Uxmal was a walled fortress city with such wonderful structures as the 115 foot tall Magician's Pyramid and the Governor's Palace. Farther south, but connected by a road even in Mayan times, the city of Kabah features the wonders of the Great Pyramid and the incredible Temple of the Masks. A buffet lunch in Uxmal completes this voyage back into ancient history before you return to your modern hotel.
