Rock 'n roll was given life by
Sun Studio, and is a must see for any 50's rock fan. It all began right here on Union Avenue, just 7 miles from
Memphis International Airport (MEM), back in the 1950's. Today it has been designated as a National Historic Landmark, and offers it's visitors a tour of it's Museum Gallery, and Recording Studio. Countless rock 'n roll legends launched their careers right here. Elvis Presley recorded his first song, "My Happiness", here, and you can even touch the first microphone he used. Elvis wasn't the only musical legend to start at
Sun Studio, though. Other famed musicians such as B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash all walked through these doors, too.
Come see loads of memoribilia, hear outtakes and edits from the famous songs that were first sung within these walls. The recording studio has all the original soundproofing up, the same floor tiles, and more. If you're a fan of music, or interested in the history of music, this is the place for you.
