The Casey Jones Village features the historic home of railroad legend Casey Jones, a railroad museum, stores, shops, and the Old Country Store Restaurant.
Casey Jones was a railroad engineer who gave his life to save his passengers during a 1900 train wreck. Rather than jump to save his own life, he stayed on the train trying to slow it as much as he could before the impact. Today you can visit the home where he and his family lived as well as explore a unique train museum. The popular Old Country Store Restaurant is located at the village and features some of the best southern cuisine in the area. There are also many stores and shops located at the village where you can find clothing, gifts, souvenirs, and more.
