Fuzion 3.0 Taking on Hip-Hop
Fuzion 3.0 0 ?Taking on Hip-Hop? combines the art gallery experience with the up-tempo atmosphere of a nightclub. Thirteen artists from the local artist?s collective, NIA, will be featured in this exhibition. Artists will respond to various aspects of Hip-Hop culture from commercialization and cross-cultural popularity, to machismo and the representation of women. DJ Enfrem Sharpe, a Memphis native now living in Atlanta, will perform during the exhibition opening on October 27. December 9, 2006 Opening reception: Friday, October 27, 7-10 p.m. The mission of NIA is to enrich the cultural condition of the greater Memphis community through the support and cultivation of the practice of black visual artists.
