Memphis Weather and Packing Advice
Graceland Mansion
Settled on 14 acres, the mansion that the Presleys called home is the second most famous house in America and one of the most visited homes in America today.
Memphis is located in the southwestern corner of Tennessee and is bordered by Arkansas, Mississippi, and the mighty Mississippi River. Tennessee is known as the home of the blues, birthplace of Rock and Roll and the home of Elvis' Graceland. The typical temperature for the region is warm summers, cool winters and moderate springs and falls. WINTER Starting in November, with the celebrations on Beale Street that celebrate the musicians from the area, to the lighting of Graceland, to the annual celebration of Elvis Presley's birthday, there is a ton to do in Memphis during the winter months. Highs range from the mid 40s to the mid 50s and lows average between the 30s to the mid 40s. Nights can be crisp and cool, so you may need a jacket or coat, and days could require a light jacket. Snow is almost unheard of in the area, and when it does snow, there is usually just enough to make a charming dusting on the many sights. SPRING Spring is stunning on the Mississippi. In addition to the colors of spring, visitors can expect to see many festivals in the area, ranging from the Memphis Film Festival to festivals celebrating the blues, barbecue and even Africa. Daytime highs range from the low 60s to the high 70s and nighttime lows range from the low 40s to the low 60s. While the nights can still be cool enough to need a light jacket or sweater, you will find the days are filled with sunshine and the perfect weather to get out and play golf or visit Graceland. SUMMER Summer starts with the Great Outdoors Festival and horse shows, and marches on with "Juneteenth" and Fourth of July celebrations. Highs range from the low 80s to the low 90s and lows of the mid 60s to around 70. This is the perfect time of year to go see the Native American village in the area or to celebrate Elvis Tribute Week. FALL Fall along the river is full of stunning color and seasonal scents, as well as the Mid-South Fair. Temperatures cooperate well with highs that range from the 80s to the mid to low 70s and lows average around 70 into the low 50s. With the nights getting cooler at this time of year, you may need a sweater or jacket. PACKING Warm summers and cooler winters mark the climate around Memphis. There are variable weather conditions at other times during the year, most with cool evenings that may require a light jacket. There are periods of almost constantly changing weather, and periods when the weather is stable. Good preparation and common sense is a good rule of thumb to follow.

Elvis Presley's Graceland Platinum Tour
Spent the week to mark Elvis' 25th Anniversary of his death. We rocked from 8:00 until past midnight and saw the #1 Elvis impersonator at BB King's Lounge. AWESOME time and I think I'm the #1 fan of the man from Tennessee!!! He's still the King and was so generous throughout his lifetime.

This was so awesome! There was so many things to see and so much to do that it took us 9 and a half hours to do it all.
-Kristal McGaha, Charlotte, NC Elvis Presley's Graceland Platinum Experience
Very nice day to be at Graceland. Not a big Elvis fan, however it was intersting to see all the stuff surrounding such a mega-star.
