Graceland Mansion
Settled on 14 acres, the mansion that the Presleys called home is the second most famous house in America and one of the most visited homes in America today.
So you've got Memphis on your mind. Don't worry, you're not alone. This lovely city has so much of a memorable personality that it's been the subject of numerous songs. And, of course, it was the chosen home of the King of Rock and Roll. If you're looking for something to do in Memphis, you must visit the home of Elvis Presley. Graceland is the second most recognizable home in America--shadowed in popularity only by the White House itself. Memphis Sightseeing Because the city is located on the shore of the Mississippi River, you've got endless options to explore the beauty of this amazing body of water. Spend some time at the Mud Island River Park--there's a Mississippi River Museum as well as canoe, kayak, airboat, paddleboat and bicycle rentals available. Sightseeing and Dinner cruises are available on the Mississippi Queen River Boat. And Belle Air Tours will take you in a 1930's style biplane to view the river. The Memphis Zoo is one of a small number of American zoos that boast a Giant Panda habitat. You'll find YaYa and LeLe (the Giant Pandas) as well as other representatives of Chinese wildlife in the zoo's China exhibit. And if you're a sucker for animals, you can't miss the twice-daily parade of the Peabody Ducks as they follow the red carpet through the Peabody Hotel's Grand Lobby--for a swim in the indoor fountain! Memphis Sun Studios Memphis is synonymous with music, from Sun Studios, the recording studio that launched Elvis Presley into a new type of music legendry, to the live music reverberating along Beale Street. Lose yourself in the food and music of Issac Hayes' Music, Food & Passion at a Sunday Jazz Brunch. After visiting Graceland, stop across the street at Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel for a cocktail in their hip lounge. Check out Soulsville, USA and pay tribute to some of the greatest soul performers at this museum that was built on the site of the STAX Record Studios. And music lovers will not be able to drag themselves from Beale Street, where you'll find almost-nonstop live music, nightclubs, restaurants and shops. Among Beale Street's 30 nightclubs, you'll find BB King's, Alfred's, and the Hard Rock Cafe. Memphis Shopping Shoppers will be excited to find the Casino Factory Shoppes, LLC just 12 miles south of the city--it's at least an entire day's worth of browsing for name-brand bargains! Memphis Hotels Accommodations are sprinkled liberally throughout the city. For a taste of that great southern hospitality, try the Sleep Inn at Court Square. The Comfort Inn Downtown overlooks the Mississippi River and Mud Island River Park. And if Graceland is your number one reason for visiting, you'll find the Best Western Executive Inn only minutes from the mansion. The great thing about Memphis is that it's such an easy place to explore, filled with fascinating discoveries. Really, you couldn't have picked a better city to have on your mind. |

Elvis Presley's Graceland Platinum Tour
Having been born in 1954 I could appreciate the whole Elvis experience. A little pricey but the trip package took care of that.
-Jeff Hutchinson, High Ridge, MO Elvis Presley's Graceland Platinum Experience
What an experience!
If you are an Elvis fan this is a MUST SEE experience. I have to confess that at the end of the tour (when I was standing there looking at his grave) I actually started to cry. What a huge talent and generous man. He will be forever missed!
-Terry, New Orleans, Louisiana Elvis Presley's Graceland Platinum Tour
Thoroughly enjoyed the day, the tour is well worth the money for any Elvis fan. We hadn't booked Sun Studios Tour but found a shuttle bus in Graceland that took us there and brought us back to Graceland. A great day.
