Graceland Mansion
Graceland Mansion
Settled on 14 acres, the mansion that the Presleys called home is the second most famous house in America and one of the most visited homes in America today.

Want to see Memphis and be sure not to miss anything? Here is just a short list of "can't miss" experiences.

FOR ELVIS FANS...

  • Graceland Platinum Tour. See the house where Elvis lived with his wife Pricilla, and tour the home and grounds. This house was designed for a family and when Elvis married Pricilla, many rooms were renovated to accommodate his new bride and young family. With over 14 acres of grounds and a grand mansion you will be impressed even if you aren't a fan of "The King". Also on the site is Elvis's motorcar museum that highlights his vast collection of autos. You'll see his personal planes, the Lisa Marie and the Hound Dog II. These are custom designed planes that he used when he traveled and toured. The Lisa Marie is also known as his "Flying Graceland" and was named after his daughter. .

FOR THE OUTDOOR BUFF...

  • Mud Island River Park. Take a narrated tour and hear the history of the Mississippi River at this recreational and educational facility located on an "island" on the shore of the Mississippi. The island is located downtown and features an 18-gallery Mississippi River Museum and five-block-long Riverwalk model. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, airboats and pedal boats to play on the water, or rent a bicycle to ride along the trails and boardwalk.
  • Lichterman Nature Center. This is the nation's first accredited nature center. It offers guided tours through the facilities, including the greenhouses, boardwalks and trails. See how Memphis looked before it grew into the city it has become.

FOR THE HISTORY BUFF...

FOR THE MUSIC LOVER...

  • Gibson Guitar Factory Tour and Rock 'N' Soul Museum. Take advantage of one of the tours of the factory where the premier guitars are made. Take the Gibson guided tour with a knowledgeable "honest to goodness" musician. Learn how these talented craftspeople combine their skills with the latest in guitar technology to hand shape a silent block of wood and turn it into a beautiful musical instrument with a voice all its own. Memphis Rock 'n' Soul is located in the Beale Street Entertainment District, on the second floor of the Gibson Guitar Factory, featuring six galleries that examine the history of Memphis music and its impact on cultural change. An advanced audio gallery guide is offered free with every admission and shares 300 minutes of information, music, and never-before-heard interviews with dozens of famous figures in rock 'n' soul history. The Museum features the Smithsonian Institution's Rock `n' Soul: Social Crossroads exhibition, a chronology of rebellious hearts and echoes that shaped "the Memphis Sound." Exhibits include artifacts, pictures, words, and of course, musical highlights that show slices of our cultural and musical past.

Don't miss a minute of the excitement that is Memphis. Head on out and see the sights and hear the sounds of the area on some of the best tours around.
