Graceland Mansion

Settled on 14 acres, the mansion that the Presleys called home is the second most famous house in America and one of the most visited homes in America today.

Each year in August, fans from around the world make a pilgrimage to Memphis for Elvis Week. This is a week long celebration of all things Elvis including the music, memories, and the legacy of the one and only Elvis Presley. Elvis Week is full of many different activities featuring music, dance, sports, and a variety of social events. This year's event will be held from August 8th - August 16th at Graceland and other venues in the Memphis area. Events and activities are still being scheduled, but below are many that are already planned for Elvis Week 2006.

Candlelight Wine Dinner & Silent Auction

Sponsored by Graceland Cellars, you'll enjoy a delicious four course dinner and taste some of the best wine from the Elvis/Graceland Cellars. There will also be a silent auction where all proceeds will go to Presley Place which supports many charities and community programs.

Club Elvis at Graceland

On August 10th from 9:00 PM until Midnight, dance the night away with your fellow Elvis fans at this fabulous party featuring lots of music and fun. A disc jockey will be on hand to spin Elvis' greatest hits and a cash bar will be available.

Merchandise and Memorabilia Showroom

This three day event from August 11th-13th will feature autograph sessions with celebrities from the Elvis world as well as hundreds of booths offering a variety of Elvis records and memorabilia for both sale and display.

Scavenger Hunt-Bears on Tour at Graceland

Tour Graceland and the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum where in addition to just viewing the facilities, you'll be participating in a scavenger hunt. This Event is held on August 13th from 5:00PM-7:00PM, and features both  adult and junior scavenger hunts with prizes awarded in both categories. All participants will receive a limited edition collectible bear exclusive to the scavenger hunt.

Elvis Week Dance Party

On August 13th, you can swing you hips like Elvis or dance however you like. This celebration is from 8:00PM until Midnight, and a disc-jockey will be available to take all your Elvis requests. Adults and children alike will enjoy this event and children 6 and under are free.

Candlelight Vigil

Pay tribute to Elvis with this ceremony that begins at the gates of Graceland. Guests are invited to walk to Elvis' grave and then walk back down with a candle in remembrance. This event is free of charge and begins at 9:00 PM on August 15th and lasts until all guests have had their chance to participate in the procession.

The Elvis Presley International Art Show

This ongoing event is from July 28-August 24th. Located at the Memphis Heritage in the downtown historic arts district, it features over 40 pieces of fan art taken from the Graceland Archives. These drawings, sculptures, and paintings sent to Elvis from his fans are displayed in a gallery setting.

Live Entertainment Tent at Graceland Crossing

Located at Graceland Crossing Shopping Center, this unique presentation of Elvis music is offered day and night from August 8th-16th. The event features the talents of a wide variety of singers, bands, and other performers all showcasing the music of Elvis.

Walk-Up Times for the Meditation Garden

During Elvis Week from 6:30 to 8:30PM, you can enjoy a free walk-up visit to the Meditation Garden at Graceland where the gravesites of Elvis and members of his family are located. The event will be offered every night of this week long celebration except on the 13th and 15th due to other Elvis Week events.

Elvis Week Art Contest & Exhibit

Beginning daily August 9th-15th, this exhibition is free and showcases a variety of Elvis themed artwork featuring both amateur and professional artists from all over the world. The exhibition will be held in Graceland Plaza.
