Inside the Pink Palace Museum.
Featuring exhibits that cover everything from dinosaurs to the Piggly Wiggly grocery store chain, the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis is quite unlike any other. The Pink Palace Museum largely chronicles the history of Memphis, and is largely known for its permanent exhibit that features a replica of the first Piggly Wiggly. You'll learn how the store and it's creator, Clarence Saunders, revolutionized the grocery business in Memphis, throughout the South, and around the world.
Other popular exhibits include Clyde Parke's Miniature Circus, which features more than 2,000 tiny circus "performers," most of which are animated. This remarkable creation was made on a 1-inch-to-1-foot scale. All ages will delight in watching the magic of this tiny wood-carved circus perform. The Pink Palace Museum also features notable exhibits on dinosaurs, life in early 20th century Memphis, and more.
