Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum

The Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum's exhibition, created by the Smithsonian Institution, tells the story of musical pioneers who overcame racial and socioeconomic barriers to create the music that shook the world.  Located on Beale Street at FedExForum, the museum offers a comprehensive Memphis music experience from the rural music of the 1930s, through Memphis' musical heyday in the 70s, to its global musical influence.

With seven galleries and the Smithsonian Institution's first exhibit outside of Washington, D.C., titled Social Crossroads, you're sure to get lost in time as you take in the rich history of American Music and this extraordinary city which was home to more than 120 top 20 hits. 

The Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum is centrally located  with easy access by trolley, or foot, from many wonderful downtown hotels, including The Comfort Inn Downtown,  Marriott Downtown, The Holiday Inn Select Downtown, Wyndham Garden Hotel, Madison Hotel, Doubletree Memphis Downtown, Hampton Inn, and Peabody Memphis.
