Memphis Brook Museum of Art
Memphis' most visited museum is also Tennessee's oldest and largest art museum. Built in 1916, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art is a splendid marble structure housing more than 7,000 works of art. Some of the most notable items found in the museum's permanent collection are from artists such as Pierre Auguste Renoir, Frank Lloyd Wright, Winslow Homer and Thomas Hart Benton.
Other exhibits rotate on a regular basis and the overall focus of the museum is on European and American art from the 18th century through the 20th century. The museum is located in Overton Park, not far from the Memphis Zoo. - Hours of operation: Tuesday - Friday, 10 am - 4 pm; Saturday 10 am - 5 pm; Sunday 11:30 am - 5 pm; on the first Wednesday of the month, the Museum re-opens from 6-9 pm for First Wednesday evening activities. The museum is closed Mondays, New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Free parking is available in a street-level public parking lot behind the museum and next to the Overton Park golf course.
