Plazuela en Memoriade de J. Jesus Moreno in Mazatlan, SI is a popular tourist attraction in Stone Island, where people go when they want to get away from the crowds of Mazatlan. Stone Island is a peninsula that's south of Mazatlan with around 4,000 people but many attractions and activities. It's just a boat ride across the Navigation Channel.
There are two modes of travel (embarcaderos or boat rides) that will get you from Mazatlan to Stone Island. One, which operates 24 hours a day, will pick you up on the eastern peninsula of Mazatlan and drop you off on the south side of Stone Island. The other one only operates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will pick you up at the south-east tip of Mazatlan and drop you off on the east side of Stone Island. They recommend this trip because you'll be just a short walking distance from a group of palapa restaurants, bars and activities to do in the sun. Once you get to the group of restaurants by the beach, you'll come to a concrete road. If you travel north, you'll get a glimpse of real Mexico. You can see the locals traveling by on horses as you check out the many small stores that are mixed in with the houses.
If you continue on this path, you'll get across the channel where you'll see the Pacifico Brewery and perhaps get some sampling in. The highlight of this little trip is the Plazuela en Memoriade de J. Jesus Moreno, which is a small but unique park. Many use this spot to rest from walking while others enjoy the fun and beautiful scenery. Right near this place is a carnival that opens each night with games and even a ferris wheel.
