Estadio Teodoro Mariscal in Mazatlan, Mexico
Mazatlan has come along way from a humble fishing village. Its close
proximity to North America and its accessibility to the Pacific Ocean,
along with the basic charm that all of Mexico possess has transformed
this town into the ideal get away for visitors. The noticeable
difference between Mazatlan and other tourist favorites is very
noticeable. With other cities; hotels litter the streets and businesses
border on abrasive behavior. In Mazatlan the attitude towards tourism
is far more relaxed and laid back. That is not to say that this city
lacks activities and sights that visitors would enjoy. With Mazatlan,
however, one gets the sense of being appreciated not just as a tourist
but as a person.
With this in mind, Mazatlan does have several places that either cater
to or can be of interest to tourist, such as the Estadio Teodoro
Mariscal. The stadium can seat up to 14,000 people and is used for a
variety of events. Estadio Teodoro Mariscal's most notable use is for
baseball. Baseball in Mexico has a deep and rich history dating back to
the early 1900s. Estadio Teodoro Mariscal is home to the Venados de
Mazatlan; a Mexican Pacific League who claimed the 2005 Caribbean World
Series. Visitors and tourists will enjoy a night out at the game. The
stadium is open air where the tapestry of the sky oversees the
pitcher's mound and the call for peanuts boom out.
Estadio Teodoro Mariscal is used for other purposes such as festivals.
Visitors that come to Mazatlan should not miss an opportunity to catch
a baseball game at this stadium and provides an excellent chance to
bond with family.
