Take look at the history of Northern Michigan and get a glimpse of talent by visiting the elegant Opera House in Cheboygan, Michigan.
The 582 seat establishment which was originally built in 1877, was rebuilt twice, once in 1888 and once in 1903 due to destruction from fire. After being closed for about twenty years, the opera house re-opened its doors to the public. It is now home to City Hall, the Fire Department, and Police Department.
With help from the Michigan Council of Arts and Cultural Affairs, this Victorian style theatre houses entertainment and performing arts. Shows performed at the theater include Taming of the Shrew, silent film Don Q, Son of Zorro, and Gemini.
