Make Island House Hotel - Mackinac Island Reservations

We celebrate our anniversary on the island every year and last year was our first at Island House. We're going back! We purchased their Romance Package last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having meals included is the way to go as food is very expensive - it's an island! The room was quiet, comfortable and average in size. The down comforter was a nice touch too. The secluded Ice House Bar behind the hotel is awesome! It was August and the breeze was cool, but the grounds are completely surrounded by trees and a hill in back and the back side of the hotel in front so the sun warmed us to the point that we almost got out our suits. It's a world all of its own. Breakfast & Dinners in the 1852 Grill room were really good too. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I don't know what's better, the rocking chair on the huge covered front porch overlooking the water or the quiet seclusion of the Ice House lawn. Our package included two nights accommodations, breakfast and dinner both days/nights, one Grand Hotel Luncheon Buffet (Awesome experience-$65 per person if purchased separately), Champagne and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, One Hour Private Carriage Ride ($100 value), Ferry Tickets ($42), Baggage Transfer, for around $700. Also, they treat you like family when you return for a second stay with them. Can't wait for August to get here!
