The island hosts a great Memorial Day parade, paying tribute to all of our soldiers.
This is also the perfect day to get to Fort Mackinac and visit the historic site, and remember all the fine men and women who've served their over the years.
This is an informal but respectful service, in which soldiers in 1800s garb march to the graves of the men who protected the Island, salute to a brief ceremony, and then return to the fort.
