Come enjoy some true American culture with award-winning poets, readings, and workshops at the Mackinac Island Poetry Festival. This weekend of enrichment will include two nights at the Little Stone Church with poets Susan Firer and Thomas R. Smith. Afternoon writing workshops by extensively published poets James Hazard, Firer, and Smith, will be held for those wanting to stretch their writing muscle and get some professional feedback.
On Saturday, Susan Firer will speak on the topic "Lilacs in poetry, poetry in lilacs". This should prove an enticing evening, starting at 4 p.m. at the Mackinac Public Library.
