Shipwreck Coast Museum
Surrounded by the Lake Superior shoreline, the Shipwreck Coast Museum is the only attraction of its kind, dedicated to the perils and heroism of maritime transport on the Great Lakes.

What more could a golfer want? Star golfers to play with, a plethora of courses to choose from, all surrounded by a beautiful area where you'll never want for something fun to see or do! Here are a few of the golf resorts and courses close to the Mackinac Island area: The Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs is just 23 miles from Mackinac Island. If offers four championship golf courses, including the Heather, the Arthur Mills, the Donald Ross Memorial, and the Moor, which is also a pro shop and golf academy. Bay Harbor Golf Club stretches 2 1/2 miles along the lake Michigan Coastline, and provides an intense course of 27 holes with the LINKS, QUARRY and PRESERVE. The LINK has 6 holes right on the water, and on the last 19-holes golfers can view Lake Michigan. The QUARRY'S 9-holes were carved through hardwoods. Bay Harbor Golf Club is 25 miles from Mackinac Island. Bay Harbor Resort and Marina has 27 Championship holes, and is 25 miles from Mackinac Island. Inn at Bay Harbor-A Renaissance Golf Resort is located on Little Traverse Bay, 25 miles from Mackinac Island. Here there are an impressive 162 holes of golf. Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls grants you two 18-hole courses: The Alpine and The Monument. Power carts, green fees and special rates for twilight hours. Disc golf is also featured. Beaver Creek Resort in Gaylord, MI is a haven for miniature golfers. And there are many, many more golf courses in the area for the avid golfer to try and discover a favorite. If golf, however, is not for you, you will find numerous other activities and attractions in the area, like the Shipwreck Coast Museum, the Wings of Mackinac, or stop by and see the historic Grand Hotel, and step back in time. |

Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum
A wonderful spot to visit, but it is not is Sault. Ste. Marie. The museum and Whitefish Point Lighthouse are 10 miles north of Paradise, on Whitefish Point Road. Walk the sand beach and visit the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory while enjoying this beautiful spot on Lake Superior
