Cappuccinos in Depot Street, Ludlow was established in 1991 by husband and wife Steve and Dawna Degnan. The restaurant offers fine dining in a relaxed and romantic setting, but also welcomes families, with a special children's menu. The dinner menu features steaks, seafood, vegetarian options, daily specials and an award-winning wine list.
Appetizers served from the menu include escargot with garlic butter, shrimp cocktail, and fresh mozzarella and roma tomatoes and bruschetta. Choose from entrees that include the New York Strip steak, fresh duck with an apricot and Grand Marnier sauce and chicken with pecans and boursin cream cheese. Entrees are accompanied by fresh vegetables, a choice of salad, potatoes or rice,and a homemade bread selection. Pasta options include filled pasta such as tortellini with pesto cream or alfredo sauce and ravioli parmigiana, and spaghetti dishes such as pasta carbonara and spaghetti with meatballs plus pasta pink — served with king crab and a sherry tomato cream sauce.
Daily specials are always on the menu based on the availability of fresh fish and seasonal produce. They feature crab cakes and steamed mussels with green peppercorns, and entrees such as veal Roma, seafood mariscada — an assortment of shrimp, clams and scallops over pasta, port Dijon and a rack of lamb with a rosemary reduction.
There is an array of sumptuous desserts and the restaurant has an award-winning wine cellar featuring both new and old world wines by the glass and the bottle, plus champagne and dessert wines. Dinner is served from 5.00pm Wednesday through Sunday and reservations are recommended.
