Visitors who want a full panorama of Los Angeles and its surrounding suburbs can take a drive on Santa Monica Boulevard. Beginning in the town of Santa Monica, the Boulevard passes through West Los Angeles, Westwood, Century City, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood before ending in the eastern part of Hollywood. Except for its run through the upscale neighborhoods of Westwood and Beverly Hills, the Boulevard is largely a commercial street and does not offer many picturesque views.
The Santa Monica stretch is densely populated with car dealerships, while the Century City portion takes visitors through a typical shopping district. Once in Hollywood, the Boulevard becomes even grittier but does offer easy access to many of the historic sites, such as the Paley Center for Media, Warner Hollywood Studios, the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and Paramount Studios.
