While visiting the Los Angeles, CA area you will have to set some time aside to visit the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park because of its beauty and tranquility. Laguna Coast Wilderness Park is located at 18751 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach. There are many activities you can take part in while visiting the park or just go for a stroll and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
This park is 6,600 acres and is one of the best places to view the wildlife of the area. It is also the only place you can find coastal canyons in South California. You will find many of these canyons spread along the 6,600 acres and will be able to walk through them. Hiking is one of the most popular activities that people take part in when visiting the park. You can find many areas to sit and relax or have a picnic. The park is open from 7:00 AM to sunset every day.
The park has many ecosystems for you to admire such as Coastal Sage Scrub, Maritime Chaparral, Oak Woodlands, and Riparian habitats. The park also features some of the only lakes in Orange County. Since this park is part of the Natural Community Conservation Planning Program you will find many endangered species living through the park. This is a great place to bring your binoculars and find some of these animals. You may see some California Gnatcatchers, Cactus Wren and Orange=Throated Whiptails. The park preservation department works hard to keep these endangered species from being extinct and you will be able to tell when you visit this natural park.
