CalTech is a small private university with a curriculum tightly focused on the natural sciences and engineering. Known as one of the premier technical institutes in the country, CalTech has produced an impressive thirty-one Nobel laureates. The school offers undergraduate and graduate courses in nearly every science-related field, including aeronautics, molecular biophysics, geochemistry, planetary science, and civil engineering.
If that's not impressive enough, Caltech also operates and manages NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and acts as the data analysis center for NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Students still find time for athletics on the many CalTech Beavers teams, as well as for creative outlets like theatre, music, dance, and comedy. The Institute welcomes visitors to their varied events from chamber music concerts and student performances to art exhibits, lectures, symposia, and panel discussions.
