If ever there was a fan base that could strike fear into the heart of the competition, that fan base would be of the Oakland Raiders. And as one of two monday night games for the NFL opening weekend, the San Diego Chargers will be paying a visit to McAfee Coliseum.
The Raiders are hoping that receiver Randy Moss can bounce back to his former prowess that was exhibited in Minnesota year after year, but with a dwindling cast of support around him, the burden may be too much for him to bear.
The Chargers, led by coaching legend Marty Schottenheimer, will be relying on a young quarterback in Philip Rivers, but is likely to have enough depth to help Philip through the bumps and bruises he's bound to take. As not only an opening game of the NFL season, but a huge indicator on exactly how these two teams will play throughout the rest of the season, a visit to McAfee Coliseum is a must for all football fans who will be in the Los Angeles/Oakland area on September 11th.
