There are 9 different awards given out in three categories at the Festival. Awards are based on audience and jury opinions of the films presented, which include over 175 documentaries, narrative features, short films, and music videos. The top two awards are $50,000 prizes for Best Filmmaker Award for Best Narrative and Best Documentary Award for Best Documentary Feature. Other awards include jury prizes for best performance, best narrative short, best documentary short, and best animated short film as well as audience awards for best narrative feature, best documentary feature, and best short film.
