Los Angeles Catholic Prayer Breakfast Convention at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, CA

Every year since 2005, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels has held an annual Los Angeles Catholic Prayer Breakfast in mid-September. The mission of this yearly event is simple - to bring together the Catholics of Los Angeles in one place to pray, convene, and listen to a meaningful keynote speech. Each year has brought a different speaker to the cathedral, always someone who has devoted much of their life to the support of the Catholic Church. The prayer breakfast has traditionally been held on a weekday in mid-September, but is held early in the morning so that working folks can get to their job after attending.

The event begins every year with the Rosary at 6:30 AM, followed by Mass at 7 AM and the breakfast and keynote speech from 7:45 to 9 AM. Over 1200 people attended this event in 2008, and every year the number of attendees has increased. The breakfast attracts both faithful Catholics from the area as well as religious scholars who want to learn more about the Catholic religion. There is a suggested admission fee, but the event does not turn anyone away due to inability to pay. Non-paying attendees are asked to register in advance.
