Shopping in the Trendy Setting of L.A.Melrose Avenue, Rodeo Drive and La Brea are all synonymous with fine shopping. If you are planning a vacation in Los Angeles you will have an opportunity to shop at some of the trendiest shops in the world, many of which are frequented by the stars. The wide variety of shopping districts located through L.A. offers plenty of shopping venues whether you are looking for exclusive designer name brands or something a bit more down to earth. Rodeo Drive and the Golden Triangle Framed by Santa Monica Boulevard on the north, Canon Drive on the east and Wilshire Boulevard on the south, Rodeo Drive rounds out the center of the famed Golden Triangle. On Rodeo Drive you will find such designer stores as Cartier, Tiffany's, Gucci, Bally, Chanel and many other well known high-end shops. Niketown, Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys can be found on Wilshire Boulevard, located nearby. Robertson Boulevard Although small, Robertson Boulevard is often viewed as one of the hippest place to be seen in L.A. Shop at such stores as Maxfield Blue, a high-end discount outlet. The Giorgio Armani Home Store is the perfect place to shop if you have extra money to spend and are longing to redecorate your home. Even if you are just window shopping in this exclusive district, it is also the perfect place to spot stars and celebrities. Melrose Avenue Located between La Brea Avenue and San Vicente, Melrose Avenue has come to define hip shopping. Even if your pockets are not quite deep enough to allow any actual shopping on Melrose Avenue you will find window shopping here to be an exhilarating experience as the storefronts are a sheer work of art. Some of the most popular shops on Melrose include Von Dutch, Red Balls and Slow. Fred Segal's, Forinara and Costume National offer somewhat lower key merchandise while Agent Provocateur is the place to score fine lingerie. La Brea Nestled between Hollywood Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard, La Brea is home to some of the best shops in the entire city. If you are looking for something rare and unique for your home or even your closet, this is where you will find it. The best vintage store in L.A., Jet Rag, is located here as well as Liz's Hardware, where you can find rare hardware to complete the look of your home. Sunset Plaza Sunset Boulevard is literally dotted with boutiques and outdoor cafes, providing you with ample opportunity to people watch and shop. Some of the top boutiques in the city are located here including Anna Sui as well as Madison. Westwood Village During the early 1980s the five block square of Westwood Village was a bustling entertainment district. A large number of Hollywood films were produced in the area as well. Today the area is home to a large number of upscale boutiques and shops as well as more affordable stores catering to the students attending UCLA, located nearby. |
