This area is known for it's shopping, and you're about to find out why. People from all over the world come to shop at some of the most exclusive stores in the world. Home to the elite Rodeo Drive and a plethora of other shopping opportunities, the area is a hard-core shopper's heaven.

SHOPPING DISTRICTS

  • Rodeo Drive. Welcome to the most upscale shopping district in the country. Everyone who's anyone has shopped here, and stars frequent the stores located along this elite path. This is one place the budget conscious dare not shop. The stretch is three blocks long and houses boutiques and shops of some of the most expensive designers in the world. You'll find names like Armani, Gucci, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Cartier, Tiffany & Co. and more. The jewel of Rodeo Drive is Bijan. It is the most expensive store in the world, and you have to make an appointment to shop there. You'll pay at least $50 for a pair of socks and a suit will set you back approximately $15,000. How much does the average customer spend on a day at Bijan? Try to the tune of $100,000. Rodeo Drive is also home to the most expensive restaurant in Southern California. Ginza Sushi Co is a 10-seat sushi bar and the food is flown in directly from Tokyo. The cost for such a delicacy? Approximately $200 per person.

 

  • Fashion Island ? Newport Beach. This upscale outdoor shopping center treats shoppers to breathtaking views of the ocean as well as some of the best stores and restaurants around. You'll find names like Bloomingdale's, Macy's and Neiman Marcus among a number of other upscale specialty shops and boutiques.

SHOPPING MALLS

  • Beverly Center ? Los Angeles. This upscale shopping mall is eight-stories high and offers three stories of shopping. You'll find names like Armani Exchange, Gap, Banana Republic, Hugo Boss, and Pottery Barn. The first floor houses the California Visitors Center where you can buy tickets to the local attractions.

OUTLETS

  • Citadel Factory Stores ? Los Angeles. What used to be the old Uniroyal Tire Factory now houses deep discount name-brand items from designers and stores like United Colors of Benetton, Ann Taylor and more. The factory resembles a castle and d'cor reflects original Babylonian styles.

MARKETS

  • Farmers Market ? Los Angeles. This outdoor market is open all week long and is home to over 70 shops and restaurants. You can find almost everything and anything there, whether you're looking for magazines, books, toys or even poultry, you're going to find it at the market.
