Mount Charleston (Spring Mountain) near Las Vegas

Soaring 12,500 feet into the air, Mount Charleston is an oddity in the usually warm enviroment of Nevada. In fact, it is a snow-capped mountain with ski resorts! There are several campgrounds (over a 180 sites) plus hiking trails through the mountain range. Cabins dot the landscape as well. Located only 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas, the natural majesty of Mount Charleston stands in stark contrast to the bright lights that fill up the night sky of Las Vegas.
