McGill Historical Drug Store Museum near Las Vegas, NV is the perfect place to check out if you're interested in learning about what old time drug stores were like many years ago. You'll see a collection of drug paraphernalia and many different artifacts covering almost the entire 20th century. With all the modern technology and malls we see today, most of them with built in pharmacies; most of us can barely remember what an old time drug store was all about. Unfortunately, our children never got the opportunity to know about drug stores. Only in a select group of very small towns do we still some drug stores, as we knew years ago.
Most of us remember drug stores as a child and going there for some penny candy on the counter or to have a soda or other beverage at the counter. During the summertime, Dan Braddock will be there behind the counter ready to serve soda from the fountain. If you're not up for a soda, he'll offer you ice cream soda, a double scoop cone or, possibly, a milkshake. The museum is loaded with memorabilia, but the only things for sale are the ice cream products. Dan is the curator of this drug store museum as well as the chairman of the White Pine County Historical Society.
