Las Vegas Convention Center - Where Something is Always Happening!

Throughout the year, the Las Vegas Convention Center is home to a wide variety of events. The massive facility includes 3.2 million square feet of space to house exhibits and meetings. Several hundred thousand-event attendees make their way through the convention center each year representing a wide array of topics. Whether your group numbers in the thousands or only a few, the Las Vegas Convention Center has something to meet your needs.

The original convention center opened in 1959 and featured a silver domed rotunda along with an adjoining exhibit hall that measured a paltry 90,000 square feet by today's standards. Eventually, in 1990, the silver dome was demolished and the new mega convention center was constructed. An expansion in 1998 added some 1.9 million square feet of space to the facility. Expansion occurred once again in 2004, at which time four bridges were constructed in order to connect the facilities at the convention center with Desert Inn Road. Today, distinctive pink neon lights set the convention center apart.

The convention center is one of the largest and most modern meeting facilities in the world. The facility is operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and is well known as providing versatility to the large number of groups and organizations that choose to hold their meetings in the facility each year. In addition to the 3.2 million square feet of exhibit space, the convention center also offers 144 meeting rooms, which can handle seating as small as 20 up to 2,500. Meeting rooms further allow for simultaneous set-up as well as break-down and exhibition of multiple events. A full service kitchen and beverage facilities make it easy for events to handle meal preparations while two restaurants offer spacious seating.

One of the most popular events held annually at the Las Vegas Convention Center is the International Truck Show. This annual exhibition of trucks is an annual favorite in Vegas and is somewhat comparable to a beauty contest for trucks. The event is held in late June and includes numerous activities and amusements.

Comdex is held in mid-November of each year at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event beckons technology buyers from around the world as they all seek to learn more about IT solutions. Software vendors, hardware manufacturers and service providers looking to launch new products all meet here. Comdex is actually one of the largest international events to be held at the convention center each year.

The annual Motor Trend International Auto Show attracts car lovers from around the country in order to take a peek at the new mini-vans, cars and trucks that will be rolling off the production lines. A highly attended and popular event that takes place in late November of each year.

The annual Cowboy Gift Show, held in mid-December, is one of the most unique events to take place in the convention center. A fabulous shopping experience for those who enjoy western wear or know someone who does.
