As many travelers to Las Vegas already know, the Venetian Hotel is vacation in and of itself, offering fantastic dining, attractions, and more. The hotel itself features 4,049 suites as well as a 120,000 square foot casino. With so much to do it can be difficult to see everything without quickly becoming overwhelmed. Here is a guide to allow travelers a little less stress on their trip through the Venetian and the activities within it.

History

After the Sands Hotel was imploded in 1996, one of the most expensive resorts of the time was getting ready to be built in its place. The Venetian cost $1.5 billion by the time it was opened in 1999, and has another $1.6 billion extension being added to it currently. The resort features 17 critically acclaimed restaurants, an art museum, live performances, and more.

Restaurants

Bouchon

Time magazine considered Thomas Keller "America's Best Chef", and he has envisioned the new Bouchon, a warm and elegant dining experience that can not be missed. The menu is filled with award-winning bistro classics and the bakery a wide variety of freshly made tarts and pastries.

Valentino

With a wine list of 24,000 different bottles from regions all over the world, you know there has to be something special about Valentino. The Italian cuisine here is made from only the freshest ingredients. The restaurant has won the Epicurean awards twice, as well as being a recipient of the James Beard award.

Grand Canal Shoppes

Take a tour of all the Venetian has to offer with the Shop & Dine - Grand Canal Shoppes, which offers everything a traveler could need during a night on the town. The package provides Club admission and a $15 dining certificate that is valid at any of the restaurants in the shoppes.

Attractions

Madame Tussauds

Travelers wishing to get a glimpse of a star or starlet while at the Venetian should look into Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. The Venetian recognizes the quality of the artists that work through Tussauds throughout the world and brought the wax works to their resort soon after it opened.

Gondola Rides

There is nothing that marks the Venetian more unique than their stunning tribute to Venice, Italy's impressive waterways and gondolas. A serenading gondolier carrying a group through the piazzas and shops of the Grand Canal is something no traveler should miss out on.
