Campground By the Lake in South Lake Tahoe, CA is one of the many highlights of the City of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department. In addition to the recreation and swimming pool complex, Regan Beach, the South Tahoe ice arena, Bijou golf course, they offer the Campground by the locate, which is located on the south part of Lake Tahoe in California. The campground opens in April and closes at the end of October. Many vacationers and tourists take advantage of this limited time. Most wish it were open year round as it is such a beautiful and popular place for family outings. With more and more families wanting to spend more time in the great outdoors, places like Campground by the Lake are a hot commodity.
Although the 157 campsites that Campground by the Lake has seem like a lot, they are full from the time the campground opens, usually sooner. The campsite park allows for RV, but doesn't have RV hookups available. Some of the amenities available are free showers, BBQ grills, fire rings, dump station, picnic table.
The rates for the campground are very reasonable for a family vacation. The rate for one night without electricity is $23 and $31 with electricity for 4 people and 1 vehicle. Each site is allowed to only have one RV. They also have cabins available for $42.50.
There is an additional charge of $4 per person per night as well as $4 per vehicle. You can have your site reserved for a fee of $3.50. Dogs are allowed for a fee of $1 per dog per night.
