Regardless of where we're at in a city or town, we always wind up eating, most likely in a restaurant. When in New York, there are a lot of restaurants to choose from. Jimmy's 21 in Lake Placid, NY will give you a choice of Italian or American cuisine. Many say Jimmy's 21 is the only restaurant in town that has homemade pasta. They don't have your every day spaghetti, but have a huge variety of different pastas as well as fresh fish. They also have an excellent veal dish, one in particular being Veal Marsala.
All of their meals are served in the tradition Italian style and are served with the wine that compliments the meal. Handpicked from the Mediterranean Region, their wine selection includes white wines, red wines, Corbett canyon and their house wine, Chablis/Burgundy. Italian dishes seem to be made to go with wine and Jimmy's proves this with the excellent choice of combinations they provide at your table. Some of their more popular dishes are Fettuccini Alfredo, Pasta Prima Vera, Veal Marsala, Shrimp ala Jimmy's, Filet Mignon Bourgoine and Seafood Combo.
For appetizers, you have a full selection to choose from including smoked salmon, cheese sampler, hot antipasto, shrimp cocktail, portabella mushroom, stuffed mushroom caps, fried calamari and many more. Many people that have small appetites order appetizers as opposed to a full meal because at Jimmy's you get a large portion when your order their appetizers.
Jimmy's 21 has three private dining rooms to assist with private parties. You have your choice of dining outdoors and indoors with the beautiful view of Mirror Lake. The private dining rooms can serve anywhere from 12 to 65 individuals. Their Ismetas Upstairs, their newest dining room, is on the top floor with a large deck.
Jimmy's offers a selection of menus for the private parties. One group consists of Zup Lo-Gosta (lobster, clams, scallops and shrimp), baked stuffed flounder or NY Strip Steak. The second group is Shrimp ala Jimmy, Veal Marsala or Bakes Sea Scallops. The third group parties can choose from consists of Rib Eye Steak, Chicken Frances or Linguine with Clam Sauce.
