Ramsey House Plantation offers its visitors an interesting insight into the lives of the Ramseys, one of Knoxville's most prominent families. This historic house museum will help you to see the beauty and richness of late 18th and early 19th century life. The Ramsey family was one of the first to settle the Knoxville area, and they developed many educational, cultural, and civic institutions. Much of the Ramsey house has been beautifully restored, but you'll also see many of the original family items, such as dolls, a piano, furniture, and more. Visitors will find many items in the house, but also many exhibits in the Visitor Center. The house stands on 100 acres, and visitors to the Ramsey House Plantation may take pleasant strolls throughout the gardens, have picnics, or even host events such as garden parties, seminars, and weddings.
