Blount Mansion in Knoxville, TN
Visit Blount Mansion, home of a primary founder of the state of Tennessee and Knoxville's National Historic Landmark. William Blount began building his house, a mansion by 18th and 19th century standards, in 1792 after he had signed the Treaty of the Holston. The William Blount mansion served as the territory's capitol and his family's home. Since 1930, the house has been owned by the Blount Mansion Association, Inc. and open for tours. Inside the house, you'll see the restored home of an 18th and 19th century family complete with a hall, main room, parlor, kitchen, and bedchamber. Tours are offered at every hour and the Blount Mansion Visitors Center has a museum shop and exhibits. Come out to the Blount Mansion to learn about one of Tennessee's prime historical figures!
