The Tennessee Fall Homecoming welcomes autumn with a look into times past with a pioneer-themed festival at the Museum of Appalachia. This festival is reminiscent of the early Smoky Mountain pioneers with music, food, and arts and crafts replicated from that period. You'll have a chance to taste authentic homemade food like ham and beans, apple butter, fried green tomatoes, fresh biscuits, and fried apples. Musicians known throughout the nation will come to fill the air with the sounds of mountain, folk, gospel, and bluegrass music. At this celebration of autumn, you'll also be able to see more than 150 artisans demonstrating skills like quilting, basket weaving, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, lye soap making, and many more pioneer skills. Their products will also be for sale, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to take the memories from this nationally renown event home with you. Visitors to this event will also have the chance to see the Smoky Mountain Antique Engine and Tractor Association demonstration and show, and even play former National Champion Robert Butler to a game of checkers. Located just 16 miles north of Knoxville, you'll want to stop by the Museum of Appalachia for this sensational event!
