Kimberley Golf Club in Kimberley, BCKimberley Golf Club in Kimberley in British Columbia has a membership of 600, and is also open to the public. It has been the host of Western Canada's longest running amateur golf tournament, The Wood Vallance, since 1931.
It takes four hours to drive to the Kimberley Golf Course from Calgary, Alberta. It also takes four hours to drive from Spokane, WA. In 1986 the Kimberley Golf Club hosted the British Columbia Amateur Tournament. It was the 2004 host of the British Columbia Junior Girls Amateur Golf Tournament. The Club has been in existence since 1924. Since then it has established a name for itself as a prominent name in golf in the Rockies. The course is scenic and winders through Ponderosa Pines. Visitors to the club will get an great view of mountain ranges that act as picturesque backdrops. In 1986 the club received a New Nine. The course has 18 holes and is open from mid-April to mid-October. The course's designer is Norman Woods. Rates for the course vary. There are discounts for twilight games and for juniors. Guests of members can also receive a reduced rate. Rates cost from $10 to $52 and visitors have the option to play eight or nine holes. Each year from in July, the club participates in the Kimberley Festival of Gulf. Competitions such as the Million Dollar Hole-in-One, Uphill Long Drive and various skills competitions are very popular. Kimberley Golf Club has a pro shop, John Scott's Pro Shop, that carries a wide variety of golf equipment and clothing. The clubhouse is air conditioned and has a licensed restaurant and a deck.
