Bavarian City Mining Railway in Kimberley, BC

Take a scenic train ride through Mark Creek valley on the Bavarian City Railway, where you'll go through switchbacks, up steep slopes, and around sharp curves. This railway links downtown Kimberley with the Sullivan Mine site, which features old surface facilities and mine reclamation activities. The end of the line reaches the base of Kimberley Alpine Resort, making this railway a great shuttle for visitors to the resort wishing to learn a little history about Kimberley. The Sullivan Mining Interpretive Centre is also onsite at the old Sullivan Mine to give visitors a historical overview of the famous Sullivan Mine and of the importance of mining itself. During the ride, the train also goes through an underground tunnel with rooms that feature mining equipment like a working jackleg.
