Skybox Grille in Killington, VT is a restaurant in the Mountain Green Ski & Golf Resort that serves American cuisine. They are open from Thanksgiving through Easter each year. They are known for their very friendly staff. One of the negative points about the Skybox is that they don't open until noon each day. The vacationers and tourists that are staying at the Mountain Green Ski & Golf resort wake up in the morning and are usually eager to eat breakfast and get disappointed when they have to go elsewhere or wait until noon.
The Skybox gets clientele from Mountain Green and Pinnacle and have a nice crowd when they are open. They used to have a really good reputation for their pizza and the popcorn they served at Happy Hour. The pizza was a New York style thin crust pizza and the popcorn was described as 'après ski greasy popcorn'. They have recently changed some of the menu items, although they are still known for having their pizza for a great lunch or snack.
Recently, they have changed or attempted to change the mode of their restaurant and turn it more into a sports type bar and Tex/Mex restaurant. The Skybox Grille provides entertainment to keep you happy while you dine or wait for your food. They do serve a beer, Magic Hat #9, which is the favorite of many of the patrons. They do offer carry out, which works well with many of the people that just want to take the food back to their room and relax in front of the television. They also do private parties, which are usually very successful.
Some of the meals that are very popular are their slow cooked ribs. Charbroiled burgers and Southwestern Barbeque. They also make a very good fresh salad. They do make for a nice quick place to have a meal.
