River Hill Ski Club in Killington, VT is a rather exclusive ski club that boasts about 150 members that come from various counties around the area. Actually situated in Stamford, Connecticut, this ski club is so close to Killington ski areas that some people mistake it for being actually a part of Killington. This ski club is membership based only and in order to go there, you must be a member or a guest of a member.
This club is over seventy years old and consists of a lodge which can house about forty beds. In addition, there are several living areas, a kitchen and dining area, a game room, fireplace to warm up by and an area to work on your skis. What is so cool is that the River Hill Ski Club members are, for the most part, responsible for the lodge operations and small chores. During the height of ski season, the cooking and kitchen duties are contracted out for evening dinners but everything else is handled by members.
The lodge which the River Hill Ski Club uses is not just used during the ski season, it is used in conjunction with a variety of other things as well like mountain hiking, snowmobiling, holiday parties like spring flings and New Year's Eve and other events as dictated and planned by members. The demographics of the River Hill Ski Club encompass both singles and families from a variety of ages. Any guests of the members must be accompanied and paid for by that member in order to visit the lodge.
