ECHO Science Center near Killington, VT has been a popular tourist site for many years. It's the perfect place to take your children to have a great time as well as learn about animals and science in a fun and interactive way. ECHO has many different displays, collections and exhibits. ECHO is located in Burlington, Vermont at the Leahy Center.
One of their current traveling exhibits is their Tree Houses display. The Tree Houses exhibit shows and teaches children the importance of trees for homes for many animals as well as humans.
Awesome Forces is an exhibit on geologic forces that have contributed to shaping the landscape in the Champlain Basin. Shown in a theatre setting, which is multi-sensory, will help the viewers see the power that water, wind, volcanoes and other forces have on the earth.
Frog World gives everyone a chance to test their frog knowledge while they get to meet frogs from six different continents. This is almost as exciting as seeing the many frogs, fish and turtles in their 2,750-gallon community tank. ECHO also has a resource room and science lab where the kids can have actual hands-on interactive experience. There are also staff and lab members available to help or answer any questions.
Another source of excitement for the kids is getting to learn about weather and the science of meteorology. They can also go on the local television station with the meteorologist.
Before you leave ECHO, you don't want to forget to check out their gift shop and café. Some of the most popular gifts and toys are available at the gift shop. The café has vending machines where you can get a quick bite to eat or they invite you to bring your own snacks and eat them in their café.
