Ninini Beach in Kauai, Hawaii is a well kept secret when it comes to beaches in Hawaii. Located on the east shore of the island the Ninini Beach is located near the northern point of Nawiliwili Harbor. Ninini Beach is just below the Marriot. To get there simply walk through the 13th hole of the golf course green and take the steep trail to the bottom. Or visitors that are looking for a gret place to go snorkeling away fromall the hussle and bustle of the crowds then Ninini Beach is a great choice. This relatively unknown of beach area is off the beaten path and provides excellent snorkeling and swimming opportunities. The Ninini Beach consists of two sandy coves that are separated by lava. This beach is a great place to go to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing day on a beautiful Hawaiian beach away from all the tourists and other visitors. Locals call Ninini Beach Running Waters Beach because there used to be an irrigation runoff there when sugar was being produced in the area. The small northern area of Ninini Beach is sandy and is generally protected from the wind and ocean currents due to the way that it is situated behind some cliffs. Visitors should be aware though that the weather can change quickly and high surfs can pick up when southern storms roll in. When the surf does pick up this beach is a great place to go body boarding. The larger area of Ninini beach has a gentle sandy slope that is perfect for sun bathing. Ninini Beach does not have any lifeguards on duty so visitors are advised to swim at their own risk. There are no other facilities on the beach but it does provide an excellent view of the nearby mountains ranges or to relax and watch the ships come in. Be aware that because both of these beaches are secluded they often attract nudists, so if you have a family, check first before bringing them all down to the beach.
