The U.S. Veterans Medical Center of Kansas City is also affiliated with the University of Kansas School of Medicine and works with numerous other medical services entities.
One of the most significant programs conducted in and through the medical center is the volunteer program supervised by the Community Relations department. Considerable effort is put into finding and training volunteers for positions that will truly serve the U.S. veteran. The main medical center is the hub of activity that includes five outpatient clinics located throughout the great Kansas City area. Additional outreach is accomplished through online services that instruct veterans how to make or change appointments or create a personal health record, for example.
Through the system's Telephone Care, veterans may contact the U.S. Veterans Medical Center of Kansas City 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-816-922-2122 or 1-800-525-1483.
