When it comes to going to the movies at a theatre or a theatre in particular, many people are unsure as to where they want to go; whether it is a theatre that you sit in while you watch the movie or if they want to go to an "old time" drive in theatre.  However, while being in Kansas City, Missouri, you will have the option of going to either!  In fact, the Twin Drive-Inn Theatre is a very well liked theatre.

The Twin Drive-In Theatre is not actually in Kansas City; however, it is close by.  In fact, it is located in Independence, Missouri, on Route 291; however, it is definitely worth driving those extra couple miles! 

As for the theatre itself, it is actually owned by Globe Cinemas; which is a large cinema company.  When visiting the theatre, you will have the option of going to two different screens or movies; as the Drive-In is rather big.  In fact, it is so big that it can fit 1600 cars in the lot!  The only downfall of the drive-in theatre is that it is not open year round; in fact, it is only open from April to September. 

When watching the movies, you will be hearing it through FM speakers; which are nothing fancy.  For many people it is a flash back to the 1950's and 60's; as drive-in theatres were very popular.  In fact, during the intermissions they still have the buttered popcorn lady that is dancing with the hot dog (as they did years ago).  Also, you can either go to the snack bar for snacks or you can easily bring your own; which may be easier!  As for the admittance price, it is $7 for adults, and children under 11 are free of charge.

No matter who you are going to the theatre with, you will definitely have fun as well as feeling as though you were a child again (if you're not)!
