Truman Presidential Museum & Library near Kansas City, Mo is an interesting piece of history that will captivate children as well as adults. You'll get to see a "miniature white house" while you're there. The museum store has many objects for sale including presidential china, books, clothing, ornament, photographs and other collectibles. The most interesting part of the museum is the museum collection, which includes around 30,000 different objects. Most of these objects are on canvas, paper or in the form of three-dimensional objects.
Some of the objects were gifts to Mr. Truman from foreign heads of states, some were gifts from private citizens and some were personal objects of the Truman's during his presidency as well as in his personal life. Some of the items on display are scrolled paintings, woven rugs, plaques, novelties, piano, and furnishings in addition to a display of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia.
There are two exhibits or Harry S. Truman that are very interesting. One of them, "The Presidential Years" highlights the events of his presidency with video and audio programs, interactive elements and exhibits all in a 10,500 square foot exhibition. The other exhibit, "His Life and Times" shows the personal life of Harry S. Truman and his family with his library collections and many personal items of his and his wife.
The Truman Presidential Museum & Library is a venue what is rented for many affairs small or up to 100 people. They have an excellent selection of rooms including the Main lobby, the Atrium, the Whistlestop Room, Independence Room, White House Decision Center, Theatre and Auditorium. These rooms are all part of the tour that guests find very interesting.
