Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Mo has been around for many years, with its history dating way back to 1925. Rumania's Queen Maria came to visit Kansas City, which prompted the city to put together a showcase of local talent as a way to celebrate her visit. They had previously thought of opening an outdoor theatre, but the large amount of funs their showcase raised showed them what a great idea it was for the town. After over 15 years of ideas and fund-raising, they finally built a theatre in Swope Park. This was such a huge success that they decided to finish Starlight Theatre. The locals raised money and the local contractors and builders donated their time, and Starlight Theater was built.
