Kansas City Zoo in Kansas City, Mo has nothing but fun and excitement to offer you and your family. There are host of things to do and see at the Kansas City Zoo. Four times daily, you'll get to feed the Sea Lions, if weather permits.
The Discovery Barn and Peekaboo Tree both have a different variety of animals and treats for the kids. The Discovery Barn is a large building for the entire family. You'll see all sorts of exotic animals including Prevost's squirrels, macaws, ring-tailed lemurs, meerkats, dart frogs, marine toads and agouti. They also have a two-story slide and many interactive fun learning activities. The Peek-A-Boo Tree is a great new idea for the kids. They'll get the opportunity to climb and play just like the animals.
The Kansas City Zoo has many different animal exhibits from different countries. The Australia exhibit offers the chance to me joeys with their mother (kangaroo), tree kangaroos, wallabies, camels, black swans, sheep and a pair of Singing Dogs from New Guinea. They are named for the chorus they sing to each other. You'll also see some of the most exotic and rare birds you've ever seen.
The African exhibit has many zebra, giraffe, cheetah, lions, chimps, hippos and gazelles. This is the largest exhibit area at the Zoo and your kids will love this. They'll particularly love seeing these animals on the loose all doing their own thing. From Memorial Day until Labor Day, they also have five African elephants roaming the grounds.
If you're tired of walking, they offer Tram rides or train rides throughout the zoo. The Kansas City Zoo also offers guided tours throughout the entire place. Don't forget to check out their food and gift shop. You're bound to find some great souvenirs.
