When we think of the old west, many people come to mind. However, the one person that probably comes to mind the most is the famous bank robber Jessie James. If you've ever wanted to know more about Jessie James, you'll love stopping at the Jessie James Bank Museum near Kansas City, Mo. If you're on vacation, you probably already have plans to stop at the historic Liberty Square, which is great because that's where the Jessie James Bank Museum is located. The Jessie James Bank Museum is where the first peacetime bank robbery took place in the United States. Not only will you be able to see the exact location of the bank, but the exact time as well.
The date of this successful robbery was February 14, 1866, which you'll be able to see while you're at the museum. The original, and very rare, Seth Thomas clock is still there set at the exact date and time of the robbery. The clock, however, is not the only original item. You'll be seeing the original bank vault that was robbed, too. This is a great historic site that you'll love viewing, especially if you were a fan of Jessie James and his brother Frank James. Everyone idolized Jessie James to some extent. As you walk through this museum and view the old items, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time and are reliving those days as they were then.
The Jessie James Bank Museum is easy to find as it's only one block north of the Northeast Corner right at Franklin and Water Streets. Take your entire family for a walk through the past.
