Crown Center is situated in Kansas City.& It was set up by the founder of Hallmark Cards following the establishment of the company's headquarters here. The Center is a shopping, dining and entertainment complex with hotels and residential areas. It was completed in the early 1970s and today attracts over 5 millions visitors a year.
The Center has three levels of shopping and dining opportunities. There are stores for womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and sporting goods. You'll find a great selection of entertainment, gifts and book shops, plus everything you need for your home and pets. There are over 30 restaurants, quick service outlets and snack bars throughout the Center.
The Crown Center is a locally renowned cultural venue and is home to two popular theaters - the American Heartland Theatre that presents comedy and drama plays and musicals, and the award-winning Coterie Theatre which features performances and events for children and families. A third venue - the 250-seat Off Center Theatre has recently been added, and will be hired by local theater groups. The Center host a range of outdoor events including movies, festivals and an ice rink. The Hallmark Visitor Center has interactive displays and demonstrations of the techniques used to make cards, and children can make their own take-home souvenir. There are yet more children's attractions including the Kaleidescope — a fun arts experience for younger children.
The Center features a full program of event throughout the year including fashion shows, storytelling events, Halloween fun and celebrations at Christmas. It caters for meetings and events of all sizes and there five hotels within the complex.
