Coterie Theatre in Kansas City, Mo
For many people, when it comes to acting or watching a play, one of the most thought about theatres is the Coterie Theatre; which is located in Kansas City, Missouri. Not only is the Coterie Theatre just a regular theatre, but it is a theatre that is well known across the country. In fact, it is known to be one of the top five theatres!
As for putting on plays and shows, the Coterie Theatre is most known for being a professional equity theatre; which serves not only adults, but children as well! In fact, in a magazine the Coterie Theatre was described as being a theatre that does not look down at anyone; they are a well respected theatre.
It was in 1979 that the Coterie Theatre was founded; which was by Judith Yeckel and Vicky Lee. When they opened the theatre they had imagined the theatre as being a theatre for people of all ages to where they can come and be amazed by what they see; which was done!
As for the theatre itself, during the main season it has six full productions being done; three of those are for older students (those that are in high school) and adults, and the other three productions are for younger children and families. As well as the shows being for certain ages, they are also emphasizing on newer shows/works. When it comes to some of the different shows that were put on at the theatre, some of them were Little House on the Prairie, The Seven Dwarfs, Lord of the Flies and Of Mice and Men.
No matter what you go to see at the Coterie Theatre, you will be surprised as to how wonderful everything is! It is definitely a place that you should visit when in Kansas City, Missouri!
